South Korea
After visiting Japan in late summer 2024, South Korea was next on our list. Since the two countries are relatively close, it made perfect sense to continue our journey there. At the time, South Korea was very easy to travel through, and while it still is, the situation became a bit more unsettled towards the end of 2024. So, if you are planning a trip, make sure to check the latest travel updates.
We took the ferry from Fukuoka (yes, by boat!) across to Busan and ended up spending a little over three weeks in South Korea. Of course, that is nowhere near enough time to see everything, but we had carefully planned our route to focus on the places that intrigued us most. During our trip, we explored Busan and Seoul, and we even managed to visit Jeju Island twice. The best part? We were able to housesit on Jeju, split into two separate stays. In between, we took a trip to Seoul, giving us plenty of time to experience the city and its surroundings in depth.
It was a great itinerary, but South Korea has so much more to offer, and there are still plenty of fascinating places left for us to discover on a future visit. It is a beautiful and captivating country, well worth exploring—so read on to learn more!
